Here is what I have got for this week, and I will try to finish all the rest of the coloring and animation part. Sorry about the low resolution, I have to compress it so that it can be uploaded.

Here is another version of my animatic draft, edited based on group critique and suggestions. Also a few sound elements have been re-adjusted to fit the visual actions.

Metamorphosis~ Hand drawn animation

Since my project explores a variety of scenes in different places, in order to create a more interesting scene transition, I am thinking of using metamorphosis as one technique to assist my editing of the piece. The above piece I found in youtube shows a very good example of metamorphosis as the shapes change along the movements to make the cut flow.

La Maison en Petits Cubes (2008)
is also named as "The House of Small Cubes", or "Tsumiki no le" in japanese. It is a 12 min animation created by Kunio Kato and music by Kenji Kondo. I love the pencil drawing and water coloring quality of this animation. The coloring style and 2d drawing method of this piece create a cozy, nostalgia feeling, and that is something I would like to learn from and to achieve in my own animation piece of this creative project assignment.  I think it can work nicely for my project, especially the scene where the man would stand in front the fireplace. There could be a lot potential for the coloring and shadowing of that scene.

Here is my first animatic draft based on a 30s sound piece I created from a class exercise. In advanced animation research class, we were asked to go for a walk around the school and jot down notes to describe the scenes we would like to choose. Later, we exchanged the notes in class. Based on the note I have received, I created a 30-second sound piece. Then I created this storyboard according to the sound piece.  One strong element I would like to show in this narrative is a contrast between cold and warm. How this man is getting warmed from outside to inside is the key sensation I would like to deliver in my audio-visual piece.
